Blogging-Self-Centered or Sharing???

So, my BFF, Tracy, and I were having a discussion the other night. I made the statement that when I am away from people I believe they do not give me a second thought after she stated that she felt people talked about her and her weight as soon as she was gone.

After my statement, she said I was full of BS, because, if I felt no one thought about me when they are away from me I would not have a blog….so I started thinking about this.

I started this blog because of requests I received from some friends who asked me to start one so they could keep up with my crazy life…so I was bored one day and created it. Now, I blog because I have thoughts up in my brain that I have no one around to share with at that moment.

I do not think my blogging is from a self-centered stand point but from a sharing stand point. Now, if no one reads the blogs I guess it is a mote point….LOL, however, this conversation the other day with the BFF has prompted me to put this into writing.

So I now ask you, Dear Bloggites, do I seem self-centered in my blogs or do I seem like I am sharing a thought I felt others might enjoy reading?

Decisions, Decisions with a Salad on the Side

In life you may come to a fork in the road….how many times, Dear Bloggites, have I heard that one? I say, how come we cannot come to a spoon in the road? Or even a knife?

When faced with the proverbial fork, people are expected to make a decision. Depending on the decision that is made, they will either go left or right. So what if it was a spoon?

When faced with a spoon in the road, a decision can be made, not to go left or right, but to slide up and down the sides of the spoon always to land in the middle then do it again. Yet, how about that knife?

When faced with a knife in the road, you have the option to take the smooth side or the sharp side with risks. No matter which side you chose, you will still be moving in a forward momentum.

I am at that proverbial set of silverware right now. No matter what decision I make, be it fork, spoon, or knife, I know one thing for sure, Dear Bloggites, I will always end up on top.

So I say to you, Dear Bloggites, grab that silverware set and strive forward with faith, hope, pride, and confidence….and remember….don’t forget that salad on the side…what else are you going to eat with the proverbial silverware set?!

So, to quote one of my favorite childhood fables…spit, spot, spout….this tale is told out! 😀

The Road To Success Is Waiting For You!! Wow, It IS!!!

This past weekend was such a Blast!!! My BFF, Tracy, and I attended the District 25 Conference for Toastmasters for the first time!!! OMG…I met such FABU people and made new lifelong friends!!!

We were treated like Royalty…as you know, Dear Bloggites, and I AM Royalty (at least in my mind…LOL). We had great food, great games, great speeches, great presenters, and great people! I am so stoked from the information I heard and learned great things from wonderful people. Can I say it enough, Dear Bloggites, GREAT PEOPLE!

I am going to shoot for the International Conference (I had the pleasure of meeting our International President Elect-Michael Notaro) so I can go and support my fellow Toastmaster, Loren (he is from the division my club is a member of, so proud!) PLUS it is in Las Vegas, where I have NEVER been and have always wanted to go experience.

Yes, I cannot say enough about how fabulous this weekend was, Verna and all her assistants did a great job putting on a great conference for all involved. Chuck Menke graced me with the pleasure of working the registration table for a short time so I could feel as if I did a little bit to help and I met Miz Linda and Rose…two funny gals from the club Afterburners in Fort Worth.

So if you are interested in getting better speaking skills, meeting new friends, making new connections go to our Toastmasters International website www.toastmasters.org and find a club near you!

So, Dear Bloggites, I shall end my short but sweet blog for the day and remember to find your Wow Moment every day of your life!

Time Flies When Doing Nothing!!!

Holy Cow!!! Last ‘official’ blog was back in October talking about possibly having a rare cancer…well, for any who read this, I do not have cancer…woo hooo! Surgery went well and I am fully recovered from it and other problems in my world…:)

Since it has been FOREVER since my last post I shall start from there to here and what I did in between. October-cancer scare…….November-nothing…..December-Granddaughter’s birthday (yes I know, I am way too young to have a Grandchild, but what can I say….I am an OVERACHIEVER!!! LOL)….January-Bestie’s Birthday (41…damn she is getting old!)….February-nothing….March-nothing….April-more nothing….May-that brings us up to date!!!

So, as you have just read my life in a nutshell paragraph…Time Flies When Doing Nothing!!! 😉

We are now up to date with what has been going on in my life. Between the nothings I have taken practically a week to two weeks each month to go to Kentucky to see my son, Travis, daughter-in-law, Tori, and my granddaughter, Airabella. Those times were the best and I miss them dearly when I am apart from them.

I am back home in Texas and getting my life going again after all the medical issues I have faced this past year, year and a half. I started back dancing (one week in the past two…not bad) and plan on continuing my progress to every week like I used to do.

I have rejoined Toastmasters (oh yeah…I think a few months in the nothingness I had joined, ran crazy with it and obtained my Competent Communications certificate in three weeks’ time) and am continuing my trend of living again between the nothingness that time gives you while it is flying….yeah, I know what you are thinking Dear Bloggites, the saying is ‘Time Flies When You’re Having Fun’ but unless you are a masochist health issues are not Fun! LOL

So that being said and having re-acquainted ourselves to each other….I will say Ado to You, Dear Bloggites, until next time.
