Poem: Darkness and Me

Darkness envelops me like the gentle hug of a lover

Darkness is my friend who does not judge

As I sit with Darkness, I am happy

As I sit with Darkness, I am free

Reality is what I make it here with the Dark

Reality is made by me

I am one with the Dark

I am a shadow flying free

I am a shadow of who I used to be

I am a shadow made of Darkness and me

Author Site Up & Running

Hello, Dear Bloggites! ūüôā¬† Now that my website and blog site are talking to each other, I was starting work on my Weekly Email Chats Newsletter for my Author Site, pacwordsmith.com, but I ran into a slight issue.¬† The issue is: “What can I call my readers/followers/network?”¬† Here, I lovingly refer to you all of you as my “Dear Bloggites” but that would be a little weird to continue that pet name for my readers…or would it?

What if I gave a long backstory on how I came up with the term Bloggites and then continue to reference all as such?¬† Currently I reference the readers following my Author site, P. A. Corino, as “Dear Friends” but I want something more unique and amazingly fun to say and read because I consider all my readers/followers/network as my Unique Friends.

Heeeeyyyyy, what about that as a pet name, “Unique Friends”?¬† I think my first poll is taking shape in my mind for my first official Email Chat Newsletter.¬† I am going to brainstorm a variety of names that will tie into me and my sites and let the subscribers vote on their future name from me!¬† THAT IS A GRAND IDEA!!!¬† Thank you, Dear Bloggites, for talking this through with me.

Make sure your voice is heard on what you want me to call you by subscribing to my Weekly Email Chats here.¬† Be sure to check the box or just click on any other page on the website and you will find a handy-dandy subscribe button for you to put your email address in. ūüôā

I am going to sign off for now, Dear Bloggites, and start creating names to vote on.  If you have any special name you would like me to start calling you, just drop a comment below and I will consider the suggestions.  After all, there is only one UberGoofy World of P, and all of you are part of my UberGoofy Journey.

Poem: Rainbow

A game of hide and seek I play hoping to catch a glimpse today.

Lightning booms, thunder rolls, rain falls down while the sirens toll.

A game of hide and seek I may catch that glimpse today.

Lightning and thunder blow away, the rain eases up and the sirens stay.

A game of hide and seek I play finally caught that glimpse today.

Domain Rejoice Dimension

The transfer is complete and it only took 6 days. ūüôā

hallelujah-squirrelNow what?¬† I have been researching how to incorporate my blog into my author site since I first¬†shared the Domain Transfer Dance post.¬† I have the concept down on how to make the sites communicate, but when I go in and try and make it happen, it tells me I am talking¬†Klingon to the site.¬† Ghay’cha’! (Damn It!).

I listed a few Grand Ideas I have for my site I want to make after the transfer in my mid-wait blog post, Domain Streamline Direction, and until I figure out how to get the system to understand the Klingon coming out of my mouth, I feel like I am just treading water.

I currently have a bunch of tabs open on my browser to continue¬†the search for¬†the magic formula with the magic words that will breathe life into my webpage art, Dear Bloggites.¬† I shall keep you posted on my journey of this next phase in my writing career and I hope to see you on the flip side! ūüôā

Domain Streamline Direction

Hello, Dear Bloggites. ūüôā As you can recall, on Thursday, January 19th, I posted about my fun time transferring my domain from Word Press to GoDaddy.¬† If you missed the post, Domain Transfer Dance, just click on the link and you can be entertained by my pain (of sorts).

There is a reason behind my madness for doing this.  Two of them I listed in my post and am going to expand on these two reasons now.  The first is because I plan on expanding my blog into other areas and want the freedom of the domain at GoDaddy to create it into the image I see in my head (we shall call this one the Expansion Experimentation) and the second is because I am CDO (the proper order of OCD) and do not like having my domains owned between two different providers (we shall call this one the Method to My Madness).

Expansion Experimentation

science-experimentBeing a writer I am learning as much as I can on the craft.¬† With my current domain being hosted by Word Press, I am limited on how I can tweak the site.¬† I say ‘limited’ because I cannot for the life of me figure out how to take the different categories of my posts and move them to a different tab to make access easier.¬† I know there are links to the side that will compile all of those specific posts into one accessible group, but my CDO is not accepting this as a sound set up.¬† My goal in the end will be a formatted website that satisfies my readers visually and systematically with the format (not to mention the dread CDO monster I suffer with must be satisfied, too).

After transfer is complete (YES, as of this blog post it has been 3.5 days since I gave permission to move the domain and the Word Press email said 5 – 7 days), I plan on testing different site formats to see what appeals to me.¬† The new site will showcase my writing in a more streamlined way and will help me grow my current Dear Bloggites count bigger.¬† I adore all my current Dear Bloggites, however, I love to ‘meet’ new people and reach new readers, so the growth is wanted.¬† The new site will have a fun email feature¬†(once I¬†learn how to do it)¬†that will give the readers more insider tips and glimpses into the world of my novel I am writing as well as up-to-date activities of the UberGoofy World of P.

The Expansion Experimentation will also follow my journey to going from writer to best-selling author (YES, I have BIG DREAMS that will be realized with YOUR HELP).  I will not only continue to provide book reviews on the books I have read but I will start sharing my journey along the way as I take classes, training, and attend conferences that deal with the craft of writing.  In these blog posts, you will receive links to the different items I will talk about and how these items helped or hindered my journey to best-selling author along the way.

I will also start sharing some of the characters from my novel I am writing to help you get a deeper understanding and relationship with these characters on a more personal level.  I hold all my characters close to my heart, so go easy on me, Dear Bloggites, I have a tough skin, but even the toughest of skins still bleed occasionally.  With your feedback about the characters, I will be able to tweak my novel in a more appealing way for you to enjoy.  Once the novel is finished, I will offer beta testing to a few of you.  If you are picked for the beta testing, you will receive a free copy of my novel and provide me constructive criticism and pleasurable praise on what you thought about the book.  Pretty cool, huh?

Method to My Madness

"We're all well aware of the madness, Phipps...where's the method?!Living with CDO (the proper order of OCD) I am always tweaking things in my life to balance and satisfy the method madness.  Having all my websites provided in one specific location will help me to produce more written works for you, Dear Bloggites.  I will no longer have to toggle between locations which wastes time.  I will have the freedom to open up the site and tweak away until my little heart is content.  After the tweaking the writing begins and new, entertaining posts will be shared for you to read.

Last word on Method to My Madness, I really do not mind having this issue with CDO, I am not so far gone with this disorder that it impedes my normal routines, just impedes my need for balance and control.  I can still go out in public and live a normal, albeit, goofy lifestyle that I love.

Okay, Dear Bloggites that is it for now.¬† I shall continue to update you on my progress from Word Press to GoDaddy and all the fun in between. ūüôā

Domain Transfer Dance

I have been reading up on blogs daily, Dear Bloggites,¬†to get some insight on writing and writing styles and just because I love to read. ¬†I came across a wonderful blog by Jenny In Neverland about When Your Blog is Getting Too Big for It’s Boots: Getting a New Domain* about, you guessed it, expanding your blog into an actual domain.¬† Now, I already own my domain goofycorino.com¬†that I purchased through Word Press so my blog UberGoofy World of P¬†has an actual domain name.¬† This blog post, among many other good tidbits, made me think I need to just go ahead and transfer my ownership from Word Press to GoDaddy because GoDaddy already hosts two other sites I own.

transferToday was the day that I decided to get this transfer taken care of for two reasons: 1. I do plan on expanding my blog into other areas and want the freedom of the domain to create it into the image I see in my head and 2. I am CDO (the proper order of OCD) and do not like having my domains owned between two different providers.¬† So the transfer of hosting ownership from Word Press to GoDaddy took place and man ‘o man¬†was it a race between providers for me.

I have to purchase the domain transfer through GoDaddy then I have to get authorization from Word Press to transfer said domain after GoDaddy verified I do indeed own goofycorino.com with Word Press.  Then, after all this is verified in the ether-world of the internet communication highway, I had to wait for an email from GoDaddy to authorize the transfer.

This authorization confused me some because I thought I was very clear when I PURCHASED the transfer that I was authorizing it to get moved.  So I wait for the email.  I get an email telling me that the email is invalid (tech put in the wrong email address) and I had to go update the email address before the transfer could take place.  So I go back to GoDaddy and update the transfer all the while the site is informing me the transfer is paused.  After the back and forth on the authorization, I then had to go to Word Press and make my site public for GoDaddy to get the domain information.

pocketwatchBack to Word Press I go, click the icon to make me public (“Yes, indeed, Word Press, I want my information to go public.”) and then I had to wait for my email from Word Press confirming I did truly want my information public.¬† Once that email was acquired, I toggled back to GoDaddy (yes, I got smart after opening and closing then opening then closing my browser windows up until this point), checked my domain transfer name, requested they resend the authorization code to the correct email address, and guess what?¬† Yep, you got it!¬† I waited for another email.

BINGO, BANGO, BONGO the email arrives with the authorization code.¬† I go back to GoDaddy and input the information all excited that this transfer is taking place.¬† GoDaddy says, “Thank you.¬† Your changes may take up to 15-minutes to complete.”¬† No problem-O, GoDaddy.¬† I can wait.

I receive three more emails after this.¬† Two from GoDaddy: terms and agreements email & a verification that my transfer is under way; The third email is from Word Press which informs me that a transfer has been authorized for my goofycorino.com and it can take up to 5 – 7 days to complete….WHAT!!!!!???say-what

After all this time (not too long, but long enough)¬† I now have to wait for the email telling me¬†that the transfer has been completed so I can go in and link the blog to GoDaddy’s hosting.

Know what I am going to do for the next 5 – 7 days, Dear Bloggites?¬† I am going to wonder if my goofycorino.com site will go dark and my blog will be hard to view…gotta love progress!!!

Poem: The Faces of Art

Art has many different faces.

Sometimes Art is a picture drawn from the vision of the painter; other times it is a sound issuing forth from a musical instrument at the hands of the musician.

My Art has the face of many individual words placed together just so; with my pen to paper, my Art creates the vision from my mind and the sound from my soul.

Art has many different faces and those faces make the world go round.
