Here’s What I know; Here’s What I Believe

Here is what I know: People Suck

We as a human race are so self-centered and self-focused on what “I want” and what’s “In it for me?” and what “I am entitled to” and on and on and on.

GET OVER YOURSELF!!!

The “I, I, I” and “Me, Me, Me” mentality is so over the top!  And I grew up in the 80s – the most materialistic era of “Beautiful People”!

Here is what I believe: People are Amazing

Every individual is amazingly unique and provides something worth knowing – no matter how small.

EMBRACE YOUR UNIQUENESS!!!

I believe every person out there has a desire to spread happiness and/or joyful encouragement.  I mean, Everyone really wants World Peace! 🙂

I love to meet people where they are in their life journey and then continue with them onto the next level of self together.

Here is what I live: Rule #32 – Appreciate the Little Things in Life

I live each day with a purpose and one thought in mind when I wake up – make a difference for just one person.

DO YOU, BABY!!!

I wake up every morning believing I make a difference no matter what.  Each action, each word, each gesture I make has an impact.  Even if all I do in a day is to organize the haphazard shopping carts in the cart zone, I believe that random act made a difference for the employee responsible for collecting all the carts because I helped them for a moment in their life on the job.

Here is what I find: It Is Not Easy

I suffer from chronic pain daily and many times I wake up to a rebellious broken body that the thought of simply moving is the last thing I want to do.

I HAVE TO CHOOSE!!!

I choose to make a point of making a difference, especially on those pain filled days, I especially need to intentionally follow Rule #32 because I believe that when a simple act is done, it creates a ripple – as if a single rain drop lands on a still pond – that ripple spreads.  As it spreads, I know it will return back to me in such an amazing way that for a moment, I forget People Suck and I remember Each Person is Unique and they provide something worth knowing – no matter how small.

My Challenge to you, Dear Bloggites, is this: Take today and intentionally do a random act of kindness, no matter how small, because it is how we all can Appreciate the Little Things in Life #Rule32. 🙂

Books & Broads Book Club: My Monkeys, My Circus

Have you heard the phrase, “Not My Monkeys, Not my Circus” before?  Well, I want to tell you about the book club I am a member of.  The Books & Broads Book Club and the Members of it ARE my monkeys and they ARE my circus and I would not have it any other way! 🙂

We all long to find that one place, you know the one, Dear Bloggites, the place that you can just be you in all your quirky glory and be accepted and loved.  It is that place that becomes your haven in a rough world; your lighthouse to your lost boat; your circus to your monkey.

March 13, 2015, I found My Monkeys and My Circus.  I did not realize that taking that break from life to visit a book club would change my life forever, but it has, and I am so grateful for it!  There were roughly 7 ladies and 14 eyeballs that looked at me when I walked though that fateful door.  After a moment of being in the amazing presence of these ladies, I knew I found My Monkeys.  THIS was My Circus.

From all walks of life, we come being drawn by a love for books but it is our chemistry, our easy way with each other that makes the magic happen each month.   The shared love and care we all have for and with one another is hard to find in life.  I have many challenges in my life that pull at me and demand from me which drains my spirit but once I walk into that room, with those ladies, I am renewed and refreshed.  I feel all the strain seep out of my body until only happiness and joy are left.

Books & Broads Christmas Party 2016

The Books & Broads Book Club is my sanctuary in life.  I look forward to the day I can revisit Our Circus and be our Quirky Monkey selves!  I will never be able to express my Love, Appreciation, and Joy these Amazing Women bring into my life, I am just forever grateful that on that fateful day in March, I found My Monkeys and My Circus!

I Love You All, My Monkeys!  Smooches!

Poem: Darkness and Me

Darkness envelops me like the gentle hug of a lover

Darkness is my friend who does not judge

As I sit with Darkness, I am happy

As I sit with Darkness, I am free

Reality is what I make it here with the Dark

Reality is made by me

I am one with the Dark

I am a shadow flying free

I am a shadow of who I used to be

I am a shadow made of Darkness and me

Author Site Up & Running

Hello, Dear Bloggites! 🙂  Now that my website and blog site are talking to each other, I was starting work on my Weekly Email Chats Newsletter for my Author Site, pacwordsmith.com, but I ran into a slight issue.  The issue is: “What can I call my readers/followers/network?”  Here, I lovingly refer to you all of you as my “Dear Bloggites” but that would be a little weird to continue that pet name for my readers…or would it?

What if I gave a long backstory on how I came up with the term Bloggites and then continue to reference all as such?  Currently I reference the readers following my Author site, P. A. Corino, as “Dear Friends” but I want something more unique and amazingly fun to say and read because I consider all my readers/followers/network as my Unique Friends.

Heeeeyyyyy, what about that as a pet name, “Unique Friends”?  I think my first poll is taking shape in my mind for my first official Email Chat Newsletter.  I am going to brainstorm a variety of names that will tie into me and my sites and let the subscribers vote on their future name from me!  THAT IS A GRAND IDEA!!!  Thank you, Dear Bloggites, for talking this through with me.

Make sure your voice is heard on what you want me to call you by subscribing to my Weekly Email Chats here.  Be sure to check the box or just click on any other page on the website and you will find a handy-dandy subscribe button for you to put your email address in. 🙂

I am going to sign off for now, Dear Bloggites, and start creating names to vote on.  If you have any special name you would like me to start calling you, just drop a comment below and I will consider the suggestions.  After all, there is only one UberGoofy World of P, and all of you are part of my UberGoofy Journey.

Poem: Rainbow

A game of hide and seek I play hoping to catch a glimpse today.

Lightning booms, thunder rolls, rain falls down while the sirens toll.

A game of hide and seek I may catch that glimpse today.

Lightning and thunder blow away, the rain eases up and the sirens stay.

A game of hide and seek I play finally caught that glimpse today.

Domain Rejoice Dimension

The transfer is complete and it only took 6 days. 🙂

hallelujah-squirrelNow what?  I have been researching how to incorporate my blog into my author site since I first shared the Domain Transfer Dance post.  I have the concept down on how to make the sites communicate, but when I go in and try and make it happen, it tells me I am talking Klingon to the site.  Ghay’cha’! (Damn It!).

I listed a few Grand Ideas I have for my site I want to make after the transfer in my mid-wait blog post, Domain Streamline Direction, and until I figure out how to get the system to understand the Klingon coming out of my mouth, I feel like I am just treading water.

I currently have a bunch of tabs open on my browser to continue the search for the magic formula with the magic words that will breathe life into my webpage art, Dear Bloggites.  I shall keep you posted on my journey of this next phase in my writing career and I hope to see you on the flip side! 🙂

Domain Streamline Direction

Hello, Dear Bloggites. 🙂 As you can recall, on Thursday, January 19th, I posted about my fun time transferring my domain from Word Press to GoDaddy.  If you missed the post, Domain Transfer Dance, just click on the link and you can be entertained by my pain (of sorts).

There is a reason behind my madness for doing this.  Two of them I listed in my post and am going to expand on these two reasons now.  The first is because I plan on expanding my blog into other areas and want the freedom of the domain at GoDaddy to create it into the image I see in my head (we shall call this one the Expansion Experimentation) and the second is because I am CDO (the proper order of OCD) and do not like having my domains owned between two different providers (we shall call this one the Method to My Madness).

Expansion Experimentation

science-experimentBeing a writer I am learning as much as I can on the craft.  With my current domain being hosted by Word Press, I am limited on how I can tweak the site.  I say ‘limited’ because I cannot for the life of me figure out how to take the different categories of my posts and move them to a different tab to make access easier.  I know there are links to the side that will compile all of those specific posts into one accessible group, but my CDO is not accepting this as a sound set up.  My goal in the end will be a formatted website that satisfies my readers visually and systematically with the format (not to mention the dread CDO monster I suffer with must be satisfied, too).

After transfer is complete (YES, as of this blog post it has been 3.5 days since I gave permission to move the domain and the Word Press email said 5 – 7 days), I plan on testing different site formats to see what appeals to me.  The new site will showcase my writing in a more streamlined way and will help me grow my current Dear Bloggites count bigger.  I adore all my current Dear Bloggites, however, I love to ‘meet’ new people and reach new readers, so the growth is wanted.  The new site will have a fun email feature (once I learn how to do it) that will give the readers more insider tips and glimpses into the world of my novel I am writing as well as up-to-date activities of the UberGoofy World of P.

The Expansion Experimentation will also follow my journey to going from writer to best-selling author (YES, I have BIG DREAMS that will be realized with YOUR HELP).  I will not only continue to provide book reviews on the books I have read but I will start sharing my journey along the way as I take classes, training, and attend conferences that deal with the craft of writing.  In these blog posts, you will receive links to the different items I will talk about and how these items helped or hindered my journey to best-selling author along the way.

I will also start sharing some of the characters from my novel I am writing to help you get a deeper understanding and relationship with these characters on a more personal level.  I hold all my characters close to my heart, so go easy on me, Dear Bloggites, I have a tough skin, but even the toughest of skins still bleed occasionally.  With your feedback about the characters, I will be able to tweak my novel in a more appealing way for you to enjoy.  Once the novel is finished, I will offer beta testing to a few of you.  If you are picked for the beta testing, you will receive a free copy of my novel and provide me constructive criticism and pleasurable praise on what you thought about the book.  Pretty cool, huh?

Method to My Madness

"We're all well aware of the madness, Phipps...where's the method?!Living with CDO (the proper order of OCD) I am always tweaking things in my life to balance and satisfy the method madness.  Having all my websites provided in one specific location will help me to produce more written works for you, Dear Bloggites.  I will no longer have to toggle between locations which wastes time.  I will have the freedom to open up the site and tweak away until my little heart is content.  After the tweaking the writing begins and new, entertaining posts will be shared for you to read.

Last word on Method to My Madness, I really do not mind having this issue with CDO, I am not so far gone with this disorder that it impedes my normal routines, just impedes my need for balance and control.  I can still go out in public and live a normal, albeit, goofy lifestyle that I love.

Okay, Dear Bloggites that is it for now.  I shall continue to update you on my progress from Word Press to GoDaddy and all the fun in between. 🙂
