Books & Broads Book Club: My Monkeys, My Circus

Have you heard the phrase, “Not My Monkeys, Not my Circus” before?  Well, I want to tell you about the book club I am a member of.  The Books & Broads Book Club and the Members of it ARE my monkeys and they ARE my circus and I would not have it any other way! 🙂

We all long to find that one place, you know the one, Dear Bloggites, the place that you can just be you in all your quirky glory and be accepted and loved.  It is that place that becomes your haven in a rough world; your lighthouse to your lost boat; your circus to your monkey.

March 13, 2015, I found My Monkeys and My Circus.  I did not realize that taking that break from life to visit a book club would change my life forever, but it has, and I am so grateful for it!  There were roughly 7 ladies and 14 eyeballs that looked at me when I walked though that fateful door.  After a moment of being in the amazing presence of these ladies, I knew I found My Monkeys.  THIS was My Circus.

From all walks of life, we come being drawn by a love for books but it is our chemistry, our easy way with each other that makes the magic happen each month.   The shared love and care we all have for and with one another is hard to find in life.  I have many challenges in my life that pull at me and demand from me which drains my spirit but once I walk into that room, with those ladies, I am renewed and refreshed.  I feel all the strain seep out of my body until only happiness and joy are left.

The Books & Broads Book Club is my sanctuary in life.  I look forward to the day I can revisit Our Circus and be our Quirky Monkey selves!  I will never be able to express my Love, Appreciation, and Joy these Amazing Women bring into my life, I am just forever grateful that on that fateful day in March, I found My Monkeys and My Circus!

I Love You All, My Monkeys!  Smooches!

#BloggiteBits-Wonderful C.H.E.E.R.

Wonderful C.H.E.E.R.: Charming smile, Helpful mindset, Elated happiness, Ecstatic energy, Radiant demeanor

#BloggiteBits-Wonderful Cheer
Wonderful C.H.E.E.R.

The wonders of a cheerful personality, can you just imagine, Dear Bloggites?  I love the quote from Anne Frank in the picture above.  Your attitude helps shape your world and the world around you.  In one of the final installments of the ABCs of encouragement with the #BloggiteBits Campaign, I am going to help you find your Wonderful C.H.E.E.R. in the world: Charming smile, Helpful mindset, Elated happiness, Ecstatic energy, & Radiant demeanor.

Charming smile: A charming smile goes a long way to improving your mood.  If you force yourself to smile throughout the day, your mood will be altered for the better and as you continue to consciously smile when engaging others, you will find that it becomes easier and easier.  The result from others, as well as yourself, for your charming smile: better attitude, relaxed feeling, and better communication.

Helpful mindset: A helpful mindset is one you should start embracing.  In this society of distrust, finding a desire to be helpful is hard.  Consciously deciding to help at least one person each day will go a long way on helping yourself and your disposition.  People who give of themselves at times usually have a happier, cheerful life versus those who do not do anything for others, or when they have to, grumble about it.  The result from others, as well as yourself, for your helpful mindset: comfort in your life and mind, better appreciation, and internal happiness.

Elated happiness: An elated happiness is something internal you begin to feel as you embrace the steps above.  Allowing yourself to have an elated happiness becomes clear to others you encounter.  When your happiness is showing and overflowing you will see a difference in how you treat others and how they treat you.  The result from others, as well as yourself, for your elated happiness: internal joy, better treatment, and willingness to compromise.

Ecstatic energy: An ecstatic energy is similar to the elated happiness item.  Having an ecstatic energy will help invigorate your mind and imagination.  Invigorating your mind and imagination will allow you to dream and achieve goals you have for yourself.  The result from others, as well as yourself, for your ecstatic energy: achieving goals, creating new projects, and desiring to reach for the stars.

Radiant demeanor: A radiant demeanor is something that is seen from the outside world that is showing internally inside you.  When you have a radiant demeanor, you are willing to embrace others’ ideas and suggestions as well as others having a desire to embrace your ideas and suggestions.  The result from others, as well as yourself, for your radiant demeanor: Collaboration on ideas, cohesive work environment, and joy in yourself and others.

#BloggiteBits-Uplift B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.

Uplift B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.: Brainy, Encouraging, Adventurous, Unconditional, Talented, Individual, Funny, Unashamed, Likeable

#BloggiteBits-Uplift Beautiful
Uplift B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.

We have all heard the saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” but how many realize their own beauty within?  In a world where beauty is worshiped as if it were a god, people have a hard time seeing what a beautiful person they truly are within.  In this installment of the ABCs of encouragement with the #BloggiteBits Campaign, I am going to talk about your internal beauty and encourage you to Uplift B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. in your mind and realize your own internal beauty: Brainy, Encouraging, Adventurous, Unconditional, Talented, Individual, Funny, Unashamed, & Likeable.

Brainy: Nothing screams beautiful than a person with a keen intellect.  I am not talking about Pulitzer Prize intellect, but someone who actually uses their brain for good interactions with others.  Being brainy and showing it to the world makes for a beautiful mind and people stop and notice it.  Celebrate cerebral communication, it is rare to find and when you do find it, be sure to embrace and uplift the person who owns that mind.

Encouraging: How many of you turn away from someone who encourages you?  No ONE!  Internal beauty is found when you are encouraging others.  Too often people get so caught up in everyday life, they forget to stop and thank the person who helps encourage them to achieve the next level of them.  Being encouraging, people will see the beauty inside.  If you come across that encouraging beauty in another, be sure to uplift their beautiful mind.

Adventurous: We all love an adventure.  No matter how large or small the adventure may be, embrace your adventurous side and let your beauty shine.  Being adventurous allows others to see the fun side of your mind.  Adventure is meant to be shared with others, however, finding the adventure in all your situations will shine through to others.  When you share your adventurous side, others will uplift your beautiful, fun side that shines through.

Unconditional: An unconditional mind is a terrible thing to waste.  Finding someone who gives of themselves unconditionally is a true beauty, indeed.  When you are interacting with others, ask yourself if you are helping in an unconditional mindset or if you are expecting something in return.  Finding an unconditional person is truly worthy of uplifting the beautiful mind inside.

Talented: A talented mind is a beautiful thing.  A person who uses their creativity to envision various different scenarios and play them out in their heads when faced with a challenge is an amazing person.  Use your talented mind to find various different ways to approach a situation and you will see that others will realize your worth.  They will uplift your beautifully talented mind and turn to you for more assistance when needed.

Individual: Be different.  Having an individual mindset will help you stand out in a crowd.  Instead of being a worker bee mindlessly doing something, be a butterfly and spread your wings and dance on the wind.  In order to uplift your beautiful mind, you need to be willing to go against the grain and do your own thing.  People will take notice and will follow your lead.

Funny: A funny mind is a beautiful mind.  Life is taken way too seriously these days.  Gone are the days of old when you did not have to worry about what you say will be taken the wrong way and out of context.  Finding a funny mindset is like finding a diamond in a coal mine.  Being funny will help uplift your beautiful for all to see.

Unashamed: Be unashamed of who you are and how you think.  Finding your inner beauty means you know who you are and accept it, flaws and all.  Do not apologize for who you are or how you think.  You have a right to think the way you do and being unashamed of yourself helps uplift your beautiful mind and soul.

Likeable: Being likeable is a good thing.  Did you know that just because someone is good does not mean they are likeable?  It is true.  Being a likeable person means that you automatically make people feel at ease as soon as you walk into a room.  Having a likeable mind means that you have an ability to put people at ease with just a single word.  People will uplift your beautiful mind when they realized what a treasured gift you have in being likable.

#BloggiteBits-Celebrate L.I.F.E.

Celebrate L.I.F.E.: Laugh daily, Invest in happiness, Focus on joy, Envision a better tomorrow

#BloggiteBits-Celebrate Life
Celebrate L.I.F.E.

Repeat after me: never start a new tradition during any holiday season! 😦

I must apologize for not posting this the day I actually posted my third installation of the ABCs of encouragement with the #BloggiteBits Campaign.  Life does get in the way, but even though it gets in the way of our planned moments, it should always be celebrated, which is what I have been doing for the holiday season. 😀

As I have been doing, Dear Bloggites, I encourage you to join me on my journey and Celebrate L.I.F.E. with these simple habits: Laugh daily, Invest in happiness, Focus on joy, & Envision a better tomorrow.

Laugh daily: This is a fairly simple concept, yet so many people forget to do it.  Laughing helps release those much needed endorphins that help a person feel good and relax.  People take life so seriously and are in such a rush they forget to realize living is a treasure to experience and laughter the compliment to that treasure.  When you are make it a point to laugh during the worst of times, you will find that those bad times are not too overwhelming to deal with.  I always choose to laugh and dance through life rather than cry and mope.  Remember, Laughter is contagious just like negativity.  Which do you think is better?

Invest in happiness: Here is a strange concept, how do you invest in happiness?  Happiness is not a tangible item that brings money in…or is it?  Happiness is a tangible item that very well may affect your income.  Think about people you know in your circle of friends who have success in their careers?  What are some similar qualities they possess?  I bet the majority of them are happy people in their personal lives.  Happiness is a trait that helps swing the vote in companies that are looking to promote employees, especially into upper management positions.  That old adage we all know, “You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar” resonates with this theory of happiness.  People are drawn to happy people because when you are a happy person, you become more approachable.  Investing in happiness on a daily level not only helps improve your mind, heart, & soul it extends to all other aspects of your life.

Focus on joy: There is a distinct difference between Joy and Happiness.  Happiness is a fleeting emotion, determined by circumstances whereas Joy is a constant emotion, no matter what circumstances you are facing.  Even though the two emotions go hand in hand, focusing on joy helps you see the wonderful things in your life even during the hard times.  This habit is very hard to do because it is during the hard times that you can truly see all that you have to be joyful about.  Joy in life is an inner glow that never shuts off and in many cases may be the guiding force you have to get you through a situation.  Focusing on joy is a wonderful exercise to put you in the humble state of mind called appreciation.

Envision a better tomorrow: Egad! Have I just requested a habit from you that requires having a hope in the future!  Yes, Dear Bloggites, I have!  When a person can envision a want or desire, they usually find it easier to obtain.  If you take the time at the end of your day and envision what you would like to achieve the next day, you help psych yourself to make that vision of tomorrow happen.  I encourage you to envision not only tomorrow, but a better tomorrow than your current day you are having.  By taking the time at the end of each day and envision a better tomorrow, you will be one step ahead of a positive outcome for any challenges that may be faced tomorrow.

What a Wonderful World…

How many of you, Dear Bloggites, have heard this song?

Now, how many of you have really HEARD this song? Do you listen to it and say, “Yeah, it is a wonderful world!” or do you say, “Huh?”

This song in a nutshell is just appreciating the life you live and the world around you…celebrating the little things, because if it was not for the little things, the world would be a sorry place.

The beauty of the world around you and the people who pass you by should be noticed if only to say, “You are someone to me.”  Everyone wants to be appreciated for who they are and they deserve it!

This world of yours is what you make of it.  You can walk on by and never notice the “trees of green…red roses, too” or you can stop and say, “How do you do?”  Whatever you choose to do will cause a ripple effect to the rest of the world around you.  This ripple effect, like a small pebble being thrown into a calm lake, will expand out further and further affecting all who are touched by it.

How amazing you could be if only you “see friends shaking hands” and think to yourself, “What a Wonderful World!”

Cheers!
